Overview
After creating your Pulse account, the next step is to set up your workspace.
Pulse works with different types of stores and websites, including:
- Shopify
- WooCommerce
- WordPress
- Custom websites
Before you start sending campaigns, Pulse guides you through a short 6-step Workspace Onboarding process.
The onboarding helps you:
- Set up your workspace
- Configure your sending domain
- Verify your sender email
- Connect your store or website
- Add your contacts
- Send a test email
You don't have to complete every step immediately. Most steps can be skipped and completed later.
A Setup Preview panel also shows your workspace setup progress, so you can easily see what is completed and what still needs attention.
What Is Workspace Onboarding?
Workspace Onboarding is a guided setup process that helps you prepare your Pulse workspace before launching your first campaign.
There are six steps:
- Organization
- Domain
- Sender
- Connection
- Contacts
- Test
Each step has a specific purpose. You can move through them one by one and complete any skipped steps later.
Tip: We recommend completing all six steps before sending your first campaign. This helps make sure your workspace, sender, contacts, and integrations are ready.
Step 1: Set Up Your Organization
The first step is to give your Pulse workspace a name.
What is a workspace name?
Your workspace name helps you identify your account inside Pulse.
For example:
- ABC Store
- My Fashion Store
- Saim's Store
- XYZ Marketing Team
How to set it up
- Enter the name you want to use for your workspace.
- Review the name.
- Continue to the next step.
Your workspace name will appear in different areas of your Pulse account, including the Setup Preview panel.
Note: Choose a name that makes it easy for you and your team to identify the workspace.
Step 2: Set Up Your Sending Domain
A sending domain is the domain Pulse uses to send emails on behalf of your business.
For example, if your website is:
yourstore.com
You can configure your email sending so your emails are sent using your own domain.
Why should you set up a sending domain?
Using your own domain helps build trust with your customers and can improve email deliverability.
How to set up your domain
- Enter your domain name.
- Click Generate DNS Records.
- Pulse will show you the DNS records you need to add.
- Log in to your domain provider.
- Add the DNS records provided by Pulse.
- Return to Pulse and complete the verification process.
If you're not ready to configure your domain yet, click Skip for now.
You can come back and set it up later.
Tip: Domain setup usually requires access to your domain provider's DNS settings. If you're not sure how to add the records, contact your domain provider or the Pulse support team.
Step 3: Verify Your Sender
Your sender information tells customers who the email is coming from.
For example:
Sender Name: ABC Store
Sender Email: hello@abcstore.com
Customers will see this information in their inbox when they receive your emails.
How to verify your sender
- Enter your Sender Name.
- Enter your Sender Email.
- Click Send verification email.
- Open the verification email in your inbox.
- Follow the instructions in the email to verify your address.
Once your email is verified, you can use it as your sender identity in Pulse.
Important: You must verify your sender email before sending real email campaigns.
Step 4: Connect Your Store or Website
Connecting your store or website allows Pulse to work with your store data and customer activity.
Depending on your platform, Pulse can use the connection for things such as:
- Product synchronization
- Storefront tracking
- Popups
- Customer events
- Store-related data
Supported platforms
You can connect:
- Shopify
- WooCommerce
- WordPress
- Custom website
Connecting a supported platform
Select the platform you use and follow the connection instructions shown by Pulse.
Connecting a custom website
If you have a custom-built website:
- Select Custom.
- Enter your website URL.
- Add an access token if your setup requires one.
- Follow the instructions provided by Pulse.
Manual installation
If your website requires a manual installation, Pulse will provide a script tag.
Copy the provided script and add it to your website as instructed.
Note: If you don't want to connect your store right now, select Skip for now. You can connect it later from your Pulse settings.
Step 5: Add Your Contacts
Contacts are the people you want to communicate with through Pulse.
You can add your existing contacts in two ways.
Option 1: Upload a CSV
If you already have a list of contacts, you can upload them using a CSV file.
- Prepare your contact list in CSV format.
- Select the CSV upload option.
- Upload your file.
- Follow the instructions to complete the import.
Option 2: Import From Your Connected Store
If you connected a store in Step 4, you can select:
Use connected store
Pulse will pull the available contacts from your connected platform.
Add contacts later
If you're not ready to import contacts yet, select:
Skip, I'll add contacts later
You can add your contacts later from your Pulse account.
Tip: Make sure your contact list follows applicable email marketing and consent requirements before importing or messaging contacts.
Step 6: Send a Test Email
The final step is to make sure your email setup is working correctly.
A test email lets you check how your email looks and confirms that your verified sender can send successfully.
How to send a test email
- Make sure your sender email has been verified.
- Click Send Test Email.
- Check the inbox of the test recipient.
- Open the email and make sure everything looks correct.
- If everything is working correctly, click Go to Dashboard.
Your workspace is now ready to use.
Tip: Always send a test email before launching an important campaign. This gives you a chance to catch setup or formatting issues before your customers receive the email.
